We've outlined the below studio policies to help foster a kind and mindful space that respects our students, teachers, and the space we share.
Make sure you book your spot as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Registration closes 15 minutes before class starts, but you can always try dropping in - although we can't guarantee a mat will be available.
Complimentary mats are provided in-studio, but you're always welcome to bring your own. We also provide any props you might need during class, like blocks, bolsters, straps, and cosy blankets handmade in Morocco. At the end of class, please clean your mat with the sprays provided, roll it up, and put it away - leaving the space clear for the next class.
Please take your shoes off when you come in and check in with the teacher at the front desk by giving your name and letting them know of any specific needs, injuries or conditions that might require attention - including pregnancy and being new to yoga. We're a small team, and sometimes there might not be someone to check you in. If that's the case, please wait outside until the teacher can let you into the studio. If the door's open and no one is at the front desk, you can check yourself into class with the iPad.
Out of respect for our teachers, students, and the space they've created, we can't allow latecomers, so please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts. Latecomers won’t be eligible to change their booking to a later date.
Phones and personal belongings are not allowed upstairs in our practice room. We kindly ask that you leave all personal belongings stowed away in a locker. You can bring water and a towel with you into the studio.
You can cancel your class booking up to 6 hours before class. After that, it's considered a late cancellation. Late cancellations and no-shows will result in the loss of your booking or a £12 penalty fee if you're an unlimited member. We automatically let unlimited members off once a month to count for the occasional time when things come up beyond your control.
Memberships are the best way to stay committed to your physical, mental, and spiritual practice. Our monthly memberships are designed to offer a regular practice at the most affordable price. More on our memberships here.
We have two intro offers for new students - 7 days unlimited for one (£35) and 7 days unlimited for two (£50) - as well as membership, class pack, and drop-in options. We also reserve one free spot per class for someone in need. Get to know our pricing here.
All of our classes are live-streamed to allow accessibility and flexibility for those who can't make it to our studio in person. Make sure you're signing up for the *online* class when booking otherwise, you won't get the link sent to your email. Once booked in, all you need is a laptop or phone, a comfortable place to lie down, a yoga mat, and props if you have them. We'd love it if you turned your camera on during class so that our teachers can support you - but it's completely up to you.
When a class books up, our waitlist opens up. As people cancel, each person will be automatically added to the class in the order they signed up. When a spot opens up, the first person on the waitlist will get a text from us notifying them of the opening. They'll get 45 minutes to either accept or decline the spot. If declined or missed, the spot will go to the next person on the waitlist. The waitlist cuts off 60 minutes before class. If a spot opens after the cutoff, an automatic text will go out to the whole waitlist and the first person who confirms will get the spot.
If you're pregnant, please let the teacher know ahead of class. We do not recommend starting a new movement practice in your first trimester. We also do not recommend practising any new movements you haven't been doing before your pregnancy (i.e. inversions and those totally new to yoga āsana) or breath holds and fast-paced breathing (i.e., 3-part breath, kapalabhati breath). Please consult with your doctor before signing up for class.
Our intro packages expire 14 days after the first class you signed up for. All other drop-in classes and class packages expire 4-8 weeks from the date of purchase depending on the pass purchased, with no exceptions. Please refer to your membership when you log into Momence or our app for the exact date.
Single classes, workshops, class packs, and membership plans are non-refundable and must be used within a certain time period. All workshop bookings are final. We do not offer transfers, refunds or store credit. Some in-person workshops are also available online, so you don't have to miss out on the magic.
Memberships are the best way to stay committed to your physical, mental, and spiritual practice. Our monthly memberships are designed to offer a regular practice at the most affordable price.
Our unlimited membership option offers full access to all of our classes as well as some special perks to encourage your practice. And our mini-membership option (4 classes/month) is for those looking for regularity and flexibility. Get to know our pricing here.
Our memberships cycle on the same date every month - the date you first bought your membership. Both memberships auto-renew, which means that you'll be charged on the card we have on file for you. If the automatic payment doesn't go through, your membership will be placed on hold immediately until resolved. If you're on the mini-membership, please note that unused classes don't roll over.
As a member, you get a discounted per-class price on all of our classes, free and discounted guest passes, 10% off our events and space hire, and 20% off all sessions in the treatment room But the best perk of all is the one you give yourself by committing to a regular practice.
We love it when you bring a friend! Unlimited members get one free buddy pass a month, and mini-members can bring one friend a month for a discounted class price of £10 in-studio and £8 online. Unlimited members have one guest pass credited to their account every month (these don't roll over). Mini members will need to email us to receive their guest pass.
You can cancel your class booking up to 6 hours before class. After that, it's considered a late cancellation. Late cancellations and no-shows will result in the loss of your booking or a £12 fee if you're an unlimited member. We automatically let unlimited members off once a month to count for the occasional time when things come up beyond your control.
We get it. Sometimes life gets in the way. We're happy to put your membership on hold or cancel your membership if needed. You can put your membership on hold due to travel or injury up to twice a calendar year for any amount of time from 2 weeks. After that, additional holds will incur a £10 fee. If you'd like to freeze your membership, you'll need to let us know with at least seven days' notice before your next automatic payment date. If notice is given with less than seven days, we'll take one more payment, and your membership will continue through the duration of that billing period that's been charged. Please get in touch via email: hello@samyastudios.com or via our contact form to put your membership on hold.
To cancel your subscription, you just need to follow these simple steps:
1. Log into your Momence account (either on the browser or app)
2. Go to Memberships
3. Click on My Memberships
4. Find your subscription and click Cancel
When you click cancel, a pop-up window will appear asking for your feedback. This helps us understand your experience and improve our offerings. If you don’t see an option to cancel, it might be because your subscription requires a minimum number of billing cycles to be completed before cancellation is allowed.
